Danny has been Executive Director of Human Resources at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust – the fourth largest acute trust in the country - since July 2007.  Prior to this he was, from April 2003, Director of HR at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.

Danny first worked in the NHS as a hospital porter during his university vacations.  After graduating he obtained a place as a Regional Personnel Management Trainee in the West Midlands RHA.  His time as a trainee was spent largely at the North Staffordshire Hospital and roles followed in Bath and Brighton.  His first Director post was the joint role for Royal West Sussex NHS Trust and Western Sussex PCT.

Danny leads on workforce strategy and organisational development as well as equality and diversity and Foundation Trust matters at NUH.  His particular priorities are the engagement of staff with the Trust’s Better for You improvement programmes and the implementation of the We are here for you values, behaviours and pledges for staff and patients.

Danny has been a member of the NHS Employers’ Policy Board since 2006, and became its’ Vice-Chair in June 2008.  He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and lives in Nottingham.
