Derek Miller is currently working as associate director of commissioning at South West London acute commissioning unit (ACU). The ACU is responsible for the acute commissioning for five PCTs (Sutton and Merton, Kingston, Wandsworth, Richmond and Twickenham and Croydon). The acute trusts include St George's, Mayday, Kingston, Epsom and St Helier.
Previous roles include:
- NHS London, Commissioning Lead, developing and reviewing business cases on the impact of the 2012 Olympic Games on the NHS in London
- Newham PCT, Acting Director of Commissioning
- Walsall Hospitals NHS Trust, evaluating the financial aspects of PFI scheme and business case, developing Trust long term financial model to support the major development
- Walsall PCT, development of a medium term financial plan for the PCT
- Birmingham and Black Country SHA Lead on Foundation Trust Development and PCT Fitness for Purpose
- Oldbury & Smethwick PCT, Rowley Regis & Tipton PCT Director of Finance
